Simple Past Tense

Simple = sederhana
Past    = masa lampau
Jadi, Simple Past Tense dapat diartikan sebagai bentuk waktu yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan atau kegiatan yang terjadi dimasa lampau dan waktu terjadinya persitiwa itu telah diketahui.

Kalimat Nominal

-	Negative	Subject + Tobe + Not + Object

Kalimat Verbal

+	Positive	Subject + Verb2 + Object

"Tobe" pada awal kalimat di Positive intro dan negative intro berarti "Apakah"
tobe pada tenses ini berbeda dengan tobe sebelumnya, pada tenses ini menggunakan tobe was dan were
"Were" digunakan pada "They,We,You"
"Was" digunakan pada "he,she,it,I"

Fungsi Simple Past Tense pada kalimat nomial biasanya digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu kebiasaan diwaktu lampau tetapi tidak berlangsung lagi sekarang, contohnya : When I was young, I worked hard

    (-)    He didn't go to english course yesterday  (Dia tidak pergi ke kursus bahasa inggris kemarin)
