Past Continuous Tense

Past           = masa lampau
Continuous = sedang terjadi

Jadi, Past Continuous menyatakan suatu peristiwa atau kejadian yang sedang terjadi di masa lampau.

+	Positive	Subject + tobe + Verb.ing + Object
-	Negative	Subject + tobe + Not + Verb.ing + Object
+?	Positive Introgative	tobe + subject + Verb.ing + Object + ?
-?	Negative Introgative	tobe + subject + Verb.ing + Object + ?

"Tobe" pada awal kalimat di Positive intro dan negative intro berarti "Apakah"
tobe pada tenses ini berbeda dengan tobe sebelumnya, pada tenses ini menggunakan tobe was dan were
"Were" digunakan pada "They,We,You"
"Was" digunakan pada "he,she,it,I"

Contoh kalimat :

1. (+) Emmy was cutting the flower last week (Emmy sedang memotong bunga minggu lalu)
    (-) Emmy was not cutting the flower last week (Emmy tidak sedang memotong bunga minggu lalu)
  (+?) Was Emmy cutting the flower last week? (Apakah Emmy sedang memotong bunga minggu lalu?)
  (-?)  Was not Emmy cutting the flower last week (Apakah Emmy tidak sedang memotong bungan minggu lalu?)
2. (+) They were standing here yesterday ( Mereka sedang berdiri disini kemarin)
    (-) They were not standing here yesterday (Mereka tidak sedang berdiri disini kemarin)
  (+?) Were they standing here yesterday? (Apakah mereka sedang berdiri disini kemarin?)
   (-?) Were not they standing here yesterday? (Apakah mereka tidak sedang berdiridisini kemarin?)
